HOW TO OBTAIN A MED CARD IN OKLAHOMA

Oklahoma state law requires patients to obtain a license through the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA). Before obtaining a license a patient must obtain a recommendation from a state of Oklahoma board-certified doctor (MD or DO). We will explain each step of the process and help you maximize your cannabis evaluation and education through our evaluation process.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A PATIENT LICENSE IN OKLAHOMA?

Oklahoma residents age 18 and up are eligible for a medical marijuana adult patient license with proof of identity, proof of residency, an acceptable photo and a signed Physician Recommendation Form (Adult Patient) from an authorized physician.

Licenses are valid for two years.

Patients who need a designated licensed caregiver must ensure the physician signing the Physician Authorization Form completes the section that certifies a caregiver is needed. Along with their caregiver, they must also sign the Caregiver Designation Form.

The nonrefundable patient license application fee is $100 plus a $4.30 credit card processing fee, or $20 plus a $2.50 credit card processing fee for people with proof of enrollment in Medicaid (SoonerSelect) or Medicare, or status as a 100% disabled veteran.

WHERE DO I APPLY FOR MY MED CARD IN OKLAHOMA?

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) was established in 2018 to oversee the medical marijuana program for the State of Oklahoma. It is responsible for licensing, regulating, and administering the program as authorized by state law. Operating as a standalone agency in Oklahoma reporting directly to the Governor, the primary goal is to ensure safe and responsible practices for the people of Oklahoma and to act as a regulatory agency for the cannabis industry in the state.

The OMMA website can be found here. All patients must apply through the OMMA MED PORTAL. You will need to speak to a doctor registered with the OMMA. We are current on our registration with the state through December 28, 2026.
